We’ve been extremely pleased since our switch to ADT. Our business is attached to our residence, and our alarm system covers both office and living spaces. With two keypads and several trigger spots (doors, windows and a motion detector), we are fully protected at all hours of the day or night. We’ve had a few technical glitches, but our local response service has been very efficient in fixing the problems. And always so friendly!
This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever received. I called in to order a security system through ADT after a break-in, and when I received my system, it was through Protection 1. The sales representative NOT ONCE disclosed to me that ADT Pulse and Protection 1 were the same company due to a merge. When I was signing my contract, I thought it was odd it said Protection 1, but the DISHONEST sales representative stated that I was just e-signing through that portal - as if it were just an e-sign software they were using instead of an actual DIFFERENT SYSTEM.

So the salesperson told him that he would wait to talk to me, the wife, and was told that he wouldn’t. Today I was talking to a friend and she was pretty much told the same thing about the phone line and breaking in and she told him that she has a dog and he replied that he could break in and kill the dog, REALLY? This kind of sales pitch is creepy when they say what if I, instead of what if someone. It just makes Vivint’s salespeople sound like stalkers.
DO NOT USE ADT to protect your home. There are better services out there who will be transparent from the start. I’m beyond disappointed in ADT – for a company that has been around as long as they have you would think they would want to keep a good name rather than tarnish it. Oh well. When my contract is up in 3 years, I’ll be promptly cancelling and there will likely be better solutions on the market.

The Canopy Mobile Panic service will work differently with different products. If you pair the service with a Ring Doorbell, you will still be responsible for monitoring the device, but will have ADT’s support. For example, let’s say someone rings your Ring. He then said he would connect me to the “presedential dept” only to come back after holding for 5 minutes to tell me that he was not going to be able to do that. He said I could contact the local supplier to discuss this further as he was trying to get me off the phone in any way possible. I already went through that channel and the local company has nothing to do with billing!
Hello V. We apologize for any confusion regarding your service agreement. Your contract with ADT mandates a $25 trip charge when a technician visits your home, no matter the reason. The notes from your last technician visit indicate that there is an issue with the WiFi range, not upload/download speed. What makes the best home security system comes down to the experience that a home security company provides. A good company will show genuine interest in providing you with a solution that fits your needs. This means it won’t try to upsell you on unnecessary equipment, pressure you into spending beyond your budget, or hit you with hidden costs, policies, or other unwanted surprises after you’ve signed a contract. It should simply give you peace of mind.
Worst experience ever. Unreliable and irresponsible service. Even for urgent matters you have to wait on line for at least 30 minutes. And because ADT Canada was not able to pick up my phone call within a few minutes as stated clearly to me the police was dispatched. When you tried to explain no one at ADT cares to take any responsibility. I have been with ADT for almost 10 years and they will not consider your loyalty if something goes wrong. I decided to leave this company. Even your alarm goes off now you will be asked to press 1 then 2 then ……. and wait forever. Think twice if you want professional and timely service.
I have tried to resolve my issues through customer service. No luck. I was quoted that my monthly bill would be 29.99 per month. It turns out that because I received cameras and access to ADT PULSE my monthly bill is $70 per month. HUGE difference and ADT was unwilling to do anything about it except to come and uninstall my equipment. I should have been told this information from the beginning. I was also told that if I paid the $105 installation fee that I would receive a $100 gift card in the mail. After a few months I called in to see why I haven't received it.
Also, don't expect ADT to listen to your complaint.  You won't get past helpdesk support. They suggest you write a letter if you want to speak to anyone higher that helpdesk.  A LETTER!, what century does this company live in. They must all drive to work using a Horse and Buggy. I knew at that point this wasn't the type of company that could provide me with the type of advanced security system you would expect in the 21st century.
Pricing on Canopy, assuming they move forward with the idea, will depend on what service you choose. In general, it’s significantly less expensive than other ADT options. Through a hands-on experience at CES 2017, I learned that their Panic Response service will be the cheapest Canopy option starting at $10 per month with burglary monitoring starting at $24.99 per month.
In addition, keep an eye on your camera logs to see when they have been accessed. If you notice camera activity at odd hours or at times when you know that nobody is at home, it may be an indication that your system has been compromised. Finally, make sure your system software and all of your connected devices are up to date. Firmware updates often address security issues and can help protect your system from infiltration.

We have had ADT for 3 years & have never had any problems. We have recommended it to friends & they have had it installed & have had no problems either. Last year a Vivint salesman came to our door & my husband invited him in.  I was not home so my husband spoke with him. The Vivint salesman put his feet on our coffee table while trying to talk my husband into cancelling our contract with ADT. Very unprofessional! We definitely will stay with ADT.

I had a representative from one of ADT's subcontracted sales companies come to my house last year in August. He gave us a whole spiel about how if he could put a sign in our yard we could get a security system for free. My husband and I both specifically asked him how long the contract was for for the monitoring monthly fee and were told that it was 1 year. We specifically asked what it would cost it us to cancel after a year and he told us it wouldn't cost us anything. He told us that when a year was up we should call and tell them we were going to switch companies and they would lower our monthly payment or we could just stop it anytime after a year.
I agree with most of the people here. ADT is the undisputed king when the talk is about home security. I have myself experienced their wonderful service on many occasions and still doing after 5 years of subscribing to an ADT plan. I'm a firm believer in a no-nonsense approach and so I prefer those companies too which follow the same policy. Without being too flashy and all, their security system gets the job done of protecting my house pretty well and that too without making much damage to my pocket. What more do I want...
The ADT outdoor IP video camera over the garage works well, supports night vision, and is activated automatically via a motion sensor, though you can also log into your Pulse web portal or mobile app and get a live view at any time. However, I experienced several instances where the Pulse software refused to connect to the camera. A technician's visit didn't cure the problem, though he did install a weatherproof sleeve that was overlooked during the initial installation and seemed to reduce the problem somewhat. The ADT Pulse mobile software was updated during my first three months with the system, and since that's happened I've only experienced one outage that was cured by my logging out and back in again.

ADT offers pretty much everything in the realm of home security, so just about anybody could find want they want from the company. If you need a simple setup, we suggest getting your doors and windows alarmed with Basic Wireless. If you want something to make your life a little easier (and cooler), we recommend the ADT Pulse setup so you can control just about everything in your house.
