Looking at the different ADT monitoring packages, several things jump out. When you upgrade from Basic, you’ll get wireless security monitoring included with your package. Also, both ADT Pulse® packages include mobile access and alerts—giving you more control over your home and more peace of mind. And these are just a few of the differences. Call 1-855-216-0133 today to learn more about ADT monitored packages and pricing.
Think of the Basic packages as “monitoring + alarms and sensors” and the Pulse packages as “monitoring + alarms and sensors + home automation.” These ADT monitoring packages range in cost from $27.99 through $58.99 per month; you can add additional equipment and service so everything is customizable to your home. To put that in perspective, ADT costs less than most cable TV packages while potentially saving hundreds, if not thousands, in damages.
Vivint will waive any cancellation fees for extenuating circumstances like death, military circumstances, bankruptcy, or a move to assisted living. Still, it’s best to be intentional if you decide on Vivint. If you’re not sure about hosting a security system, or are frequently on the move, consider Frontpoint, which offers three- and one-year contracts, or GetSafe, which doesn’t require a contract at all.
The ADT outdoor IP video camera over the garage works well, supports night vision, and is activated automatically via a motion sensor, though you can also log into your Pulse web portal or mobile app and get a live view at any time. However, I experienced several instances where the Pulse software refused to connect to the camera. A technician's visit didn't cure the problem, though he did install a weatherproof sleeve that was overlooked during the initial installation and seemed to reduce the problem somewhat. The ADT Pulse mobile software was updated during my first three months with the system, and since that's happened I've only experienced one outage that was cured by my logging out and back in again.

I have been using ADT for 8 years and there is no doubt in their service. Originally I wanted to go with another company just for the namesake of not being with ADT but after talking with neighbors and family I heard enough bad stories about random companies I went ahead with this one. And of course is established in 1874 so it the best service in this field.

At the end of the install, he goes to test the signal…it cuts in an out (it was cellular).  Two hours later at 8:00, he still can’t get a continuous signal.  He tells me he’ll have to come back tomorrow with an antenna to put in the CLOSET (please explain how this makes sense) to get better signal.  This means more holes in my walls and another tech in my house and another afternoon of mine wasted watching these guys use their tools. Fourth problem I had.
Do not use ADT! The salesman was a fast-talking con artist. My husband and I felt pressured to sign a contract without having time to read it. The salesman lied and told us we could cancel anytime. The contract is for 36 months, and if you try to cancel, you have to pay an incredibly large sum of money! Customer service is rude and antagonistic, and the actual alarm service itself is defective. Please don’t make the mistake that we did!
I have been with ADT going on 11 years. I had the system installed because of a psycho next door neighbor (they have since moved – thank God) and this system has been my life saver not to mention my peace of mind. Unbiased – I am completely happy with them. Their response time is excellent and their customer service has always been prompt with helping me with billing questions, referrals or upgrades to my current system.
Vivint has been around since 1999 and is known for its cutting-edge technology. We like the company’s automation features in particular. All of the systems we considered offer some basic features, but Vivint’s were the easiest to use. With the SkyControl panel, Glance display, or mobile app, you can change the temperature on your thermostat, turn your lights on or off, and even have two-way conversations through your security cameras.

I use ADT in all of my tenants homes and they like it. I have a influx of new tenants constantly so each time that happens I change the alarm code and make them a new user login on the ADT pulse app. I realize most people won't need to do all of this extra work when it is just them using it. If it can hold up in rentals it is definitely a worth-while security system!
You’ll also get 2 keychain wireless remote controls so you and a second family member easily operate the security system from anywhere on your property (up to 100 feet away) and in case of an emergency sound the siren immediately and dispatch the police with just the press of a single button. (Full 3-seconds delay on panic function to reduce false alarms).

The story: Founded in 1874 by Edward Calahan. They started out as a messenger/alarm service but quickly added fire and local authorities. In 1909, they were purchased by AT&T (a name you surely recognize). Shortly thereafter, AT&T sold ADT again. Fast forward some years to 1969 and ADT went public. In 1984, the were renamed and ten years later passed their one-millionth customer. In 1997, Tyco International Ltd. bought them out and since then they have acquired dozens of Ma & Pa security companies as well as big ones such as Brinks and Broadview Security.
“I accidentally touched button on my emergency base unit. Response time was excellent. I know if it was a genuine emergency for me your staff would respond immediately with efficiency and professionalism. I feel very secure with this system. I will definitely recommend this unit to my friends and associates. We do have an ADT Security System and we are happy and satisfied with this as well.” – Ellen, Oct 7, 2017, Consumer Affairs
We’ve been extremely pleased since our switch to ADT. Our business is attached to our residence, and our alarm system covers both office and living spaces. With two keypads and several trigger spots (doors, windows and a motion detector), we are fully protected at all hours of the day or night. We’ve had a few technical glitches, but our local response service has been very efficient in fixing the problems. And always so friendly!
Like many other entry sensors in the kits on this list, these little devices are made up of two pieces connected by a magnet. Attach the alarm to your window or door (one piece on the door, one on the frame) and when an intruder opens it, the magnetic connection separates and triggers a 100dB alarm. Reviewers love this product for its easy installation and budget-friendly price tag.
I got ADT for some reasons most don't think of. I am a business man and I know it takes years and years to build and structure a working business properly. I bought the ADT alarm because they have several monitoring stations throughout the USA all with backup features in case they get hit with a natural disaster. Their support is also levels deep in security and these are things you will not find in a review or hear about with newer companies. By them handling so many monthly customers has given them a reliable structure to handle big problems.

The majority of home security companies recommend or require you to call when ordering your service. We recommend this too, as you can often get a lower price by discussing your quote with a salesperson. Sometimes home security systems require an installation fee, equipment fees, or an activation fee. It’s quite common that special deals can waive or lower those. In fact, sales reps from eight of the nine security companies we considered offered us a discount over the phone — we didn’t even have to ask.

Whether you decide to go with a DIY system or opt for a professionally installed system, you'll have to pay a monthly or annual fee if you require monitoring, and in some cases, you'll be hit with a monthly fee to pay off the cost of hardware components. With most DIY systems, such as the SimpliSafe Home Security Kit, the Ring Alarm Security Kit, and the Nest Secure, you purchase the hardware outright and can avoid any monthly fees if you decide to self-monitor. If you add monitoring, fees will vary: SimpliSafe charges $14.99 per month for its no-contract monitoring service, while Nest charges $29 per month. If you commit to a three-year contract, the price of the Nest service drops to $19 per month. Ring's Protect Plus plan goes for $10 per month and doesn't require a contract.

We just moved into our first house 5 months ago in a neighborhood we didn’t know well, and getting a security system was very important to us. We considered several, and ADT just seemed to have the most bang for our buck. Our system hasn’t disappointed us one bit. Usually when I walk out of the door, my hands are full while I’m juggling a toddler. The app helps so much so that I can activate our system from my phone once I’m in the car.
Keep an eye on what goes on in and around your home with our wireless home camera systems. Wireless security camera systems offer numerous benefits over wired security systems - first and foremost, flexible installation options. Lorex wireless security systems can make it easier to install your cameras higher, or further away without having to run cables to your DVR unit. They offer the same standard features as a wired camera, including HD quality recording, infrared night vision, and motion detection sensors. They use top-of-the-line technology to ensure a secure and reliable connection at all times. Interference from competing wireless devices is also minimized by using adaptive Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) technology.
Frontpoint captures the best of both DIY and do-it-for-me worlds, with self-installation and sophisticated equipment line-up coupled with professional monitoring. We built our package uber-cheap — a control panel, glass break sensor, and four access sensors costs as little as $100 upfront. Then we installed and arranged the system, and let professional monitoring services take care of the rest.
My wife has been wanting me to have a security system installed since we moved in. When this was announced about a year ago, I thought it was just the product to fit the bill. I've always been a DIY type of guy and I've been looking to introduce some home automation into the house and this coupled the SmartThings hub with the security system so I could knock out two birds with one stone. The ability to be monitored by ADT was also attractive. This is my first
Do you have an ADT Coupon or ADT Special? How much is ADT anyhow? Are these the questions that are rolling around in your head? When it comes to deterring potential break-ins, brand recognition has significant value. In fact, a study from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte Department of Criminal Justice & Criminology found that a security sign was more of a deterrent to burglars than outdoor lighting and a neighborhood watch. An ADT sign in your front yard is a good bet if you want to know you’re protected (and want other people to know it, too).
Hello Kai-We apologize for any issues that you encountered with the ADT authorized dealer. When you installed your services in CO, you would have signed and been provided with a copy of your residential services agreement, that clearly spells out the term of the agreement, 36 months. Should you have any further concerns, please feel free to email ADT at AlwaysThere@adt.com. Thank you. -Gabe
Very happy with ADT. I bought an investment property and decided to get an alarm system installed during the five months the property was being renovated. After talking to an ADT representative, I decided to go with them. Things were a little different getting it setup since it wasn't my primary residence but they were able to secure it. It was nice not having to worry about someone breaking in and stealing tools or doing damage to it while it was being renovated.

The outside camera is hit or miss and has been since the system was installed. Overall, I'd say it works about 75 percent of the time. ADT has been out twice to fix it with neither visit making any difference. While it has a nice wow factor, the camera isn't really a lynchpin of the system, so I'm not overly concerned with it. Still, it is a primary component and you're paying for it, so overall it could use improvement.
I have been an ADT client for a long time. At the point when my mom turned out to be sick and expected to remain home more often, I began to look into upgrading my system for one with video and ability for her to see who was at our door. After many research I found that plan require me to either include their TV products or services. Change I was not interested in making. So I upgrade with ADT, and our needs were met. My mother can choose whether or not she needs to her energy to answer the door.
In the beginning I didn’t think I needed a home security system, my dog was enough. But events happened that made me reconsider. ADT has been a great company for our home. They are professional and are available any time I have a question. The system has been easy to use. I feel much better about working nights knowing my home and loved ones are now protected.
I just got rid of m ADT system. It was installed onOctober 1st and in the four months I had it, I had at least 14 service calls to fix broken or non-functioning equipment and more calls from them telling me that a window was open when it was not. The window in question has not been opened over 25 years. And every time they would call about my “open window”, it would make the alarm impossible to set because it required over-riding that window. I got a call from an ADT representative telling me they were receiving an alarm from my system. I was standing right next to the alarm when she called and I said “If the alarm was going off, shouldn’t I be hearing it.” She said “Absolutely”.... Read More
Like any product that connects to the internet and uses wireless technology, smart home security systems are vulnerable to hacking, particularly systems that lack encryption. Hackers can sit outside your home and use a laptop and software to intercept wireless signals coming from your system that allow them to suppress alarms and disable sensors. Other devices allow hackers to generate radio noise that can jam communications between the sensors and the hub.
We have had ADT for 3 years & have never had any problems. We have recommended it to friends & they have had it installed & have had no problems either. Last year a Vivint salesman came to our door & my husband invited him in.  I was not home so my husband spoke with him. The Vivint salesman put his feet on our coffee table while trying to talk my husband into cancelling our contract with ADT. Very unprofessional! We definitely will stay with ADT.
