So since the guy was already there i was friendly and greeted him but explained i had canceled and was no longer looking for security at the moment due to some issues. He stated he couldn't leave until his boss gave him permission. His boss(ADAM)  was very rude and told him to just leave the security system on my counter and to leave and that i wasn't receiving a refund  (YET I DIDN'T EVEN RECEIVE INSTALLATION NOR DID HE EVEN TAKE OUT THE SYSTEM OUT OF HIS CAR)  When i told him(Adam) My husband was on deployment and wasn't moving in until January ADAM kept pushing it on me after telling him NO several times. He states he already had a cancellation and couldn't receive another cancellation for the day. THAT IS NOT MY PROBLEM. They instillation person was very nice but stayed at my house (inside) for 2 hours. I Had to speak to 4 different people just to cancel and have the tech person to leave.  It was the worst experience of customer service i have EVER experienced. ADT does not care about you only their money. WILL NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!! SCAM

A new ADT Customer will be able to take advantage of its lowest monitoring plan (Traditional) at $28.99 per month, however, this plan does not come with free equipment installation or the extended limited warranty. You will be required to sign a 36-month monitoring contract (24-month if you are a resident of California) which is unfortunate if you become dissatisfied with the alarm system after the 6-month money-back guarantee period.
Fortress Security Store is very proud of the quality of the products we sell. We are so confident in the quality, we guarantee the main panel and accessories will function normally for at least 3 years. If anything should happen to malfunction or otherwise cause a problem, just call us and we'll help you fix the item. If we can't get things back to normal operation, we'll replace the offending sensors or panel and pay for the shipping. See our Warranty page for full details!
I use ADT in all of my tenants homes and they like it. I have a influx of new tenants constantly so each time that happens I change the alarm code and make them a new user login on the ADT pulse app. I realize most people won't need to do all of this extra work when it is just them using it. If it can hold up in rentals it is definitely a worth-while security system!
When I was a kid, we had ADT in the house and my parents raved about the service. When I had to choose my own service once I got older, of coarse I chose something familiar. BIG mistake. I guess they have just gotten so money hungry/rich over the years they just don’t care about customers at all any more. All we are to them are q notch in their sales quota. From outdated equipment, to lack of knowledge of the customer service department. They should really have TRAINING in the services and equipment they provide opposed to “training” on how to read the screen prompts ….heaven forbid those don’t work or they stumble around and want to transfer you etc….you have more a chance of figuring things out on your own, or better yet let a kid do it. They seem to have more knowledge nowdays than any customer service rep REALLY has. Plain and simple…..I will NEVER be using ADT again.
ADT’s security system provided peace of mind when I was a single parent with my two daughters. I could go to bed at night and feel that we were all very safe and well protected. The sense of security allowed me to rest each night knowing we were all protected. One of the best things in using ADT was that I never had a “false alarm” while using their services. I had heard of other services that would often give false alarms frightening everyone in the house. This never happened with ADT. When someone in the house would forget to unset the alarm and open the front door making the alarm sound, I always received a call promptly to make sure everything was okay. I was always asked for our password, also. When the responder was satisfied that all was well in my home, they never acted as if they were irritated with my own error. ADT provided great service. I am currently moving into a new home within the next two weeks and have chosen ADT again to use for my protection services.
ADT’s long-standing presence on the home security scene is worthy of the accolades and recognition they’ve garnered over the years. ADT is the largest security company on the market, offering notable features like the ADT Pulse® app for mobile access and alerts, and CellGuard® wireless monitoring, which connects to the monitoring center without a landline. Combine this with Protect Your Home’s wireless system that uses radio waves to connect the sensors and cameras to the control panel, and you’re home is completely free of wires and cables. Protect Your Home, an ADT Authorized Premier Provider, only offers professional installation at this time, but can do same-day installation in most areas.
Monitoring for professionally installed systems tends to be more expensive. The ADT Pulse monitoring service starts at $28.99 per month and requires a three-year contract, but you also have to figure in the cost of things like hardware components, cellular backup, and installation. When we reviewed the Pulse system, our upfront cost was more than $3,000, with a monthly fee of more than $60. Some vendors, such as LifeShield, will let you buy the components outright or pay for them over time. For example, LifeShield's Security Essentials system will cost you $29.99 per month for three years and includes monitoring, but you'll pay a $99 activation fee. Or, you can pay $299.99 upfront for the hardware and still get monitoring but avoid the activation fee.
After the first year of service, ADT can increase the monitoring fee anytime and as frequently– as it wants. However, if you provide written notice of your objection to the price increase within 30 days or receipt of notice, ADT may either reconsider the adjustment or allow you to terminate the contract without paying cancellation fees. Changes in monitoring rates do happen, but they are not common and infrequent.
With ADT Pulse, you have control over your security camera system. This means you can turn on lights or integrate security cameras with motion sensors so that the camera records any movement detected during specific hours. You can verify that your children are home by setting the security camera to record motion from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on school days, for example. ADT's equipment is comprehensive, but the company does not publicly give details on its security packages.
Protect Your Home is an industry leader in home security providing quality care 365 days a year. As one of the largest home security companies, providing ADT-monitored security all across America, we strive to combine both safety with affordability. We set the standard for ADT-monitored home security at a low price of only $7 a week. And, when it comes to your family’s safety, ADT-monitored security will provide you with the necessary equipment to grant you peace of mind while you’re home or away. Regardless of which home security package its your needs, rest assured knowing Protect Your Home is in your corner.
This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever received. I called in to order a security system through ADT after a break-in, and when I received my system, it was through Protection 1. The sales representative NOT ONCE disclosed to me that ADT Pulse and Protection 1 were the same company due to a merge. When I was signing my contract, I thought it was odd it said Protection 1, but the DISHONEST sales representative stated that I was just e-signing through that portal - as if it were just an e-sign software they were using instead of an actual DIFFERENT SYSTEM.
Several days later a beep began to sound again – similar to the one previous. A call to ADT’s service centre assured us that it was not the panel or anything to do with the system. It was suggested that the beep may be coming from a smoke or carbon monoxide detector. Those devices ‘pip’ not ‘beep’. In any case, we replaced them because they were due. Still, we heard the beep. We even went as far as replacing the batteries in every device in the home that required them. Still, we heard the beep. The beep appeared to come from the panel area but without the low battery warning on the panel we continued our search/detection just in case we were mistaken and ADT was correct.
ADT offers pretty much everything in the realm of home security, so just about anybody could find want they want from the company. If you need a simple setup, we suggest getting your doors and windows alarmed with Basic Wireless. If you want something to make your life a little easier (and cooler), we recommend the ADT Pulse setup so you can control just about everything in your house. If you want to be absolutely secure, it’s worth investing in ADT security cameras and video surveillance on top of the basic package.
I love all of the features with this new system. It’s great for pet owners. I do have to say that it is a little confusing how the packages are displayed online, versus what you can get from the company on the phone, or in person. I currently have the middle tier, but I’m maxed out on ‘points’ for more equipment. I can apparently buy the hardware at full price and install it for it to work, but I cannot get it for free like the rest of the equipment. This isn’t a huge drawback, since I did get free hardware and install, but it’s not stated clearly online. So far everything has been working great, and I’m excited to not worry about break-ins or fires. Wish the contract was not for 5 years. Seems a little excessive.
Most of our testers had positive things to say about living with their home security systems. They reported that their systems improved their overall peace of mind. If you’re prone to fretting late at night or while away on vacation, home security systems deliver on their promise of reassurance. That’s not to say there weren’t annoyances — which can become major sore points if you’re interacting with your system every time you leave the house. LiveWatch’s piercing, impossible-to-mute beeps drew complaints from one tester, as did Link Interactive’s inaccurate digital display. Others, like Vivint and ADT, were easier to incorporate unobtrusively into our daily routines.
While we took note of the general costs of each system provider, prices will vary greatly based on the equipment package that’s best for your home and security needs, and your preferred level of monitoring. For most DIY systems, the plans will include more than just a monitoring service. As you upgrade tiers, you gain access to facial detection, custom modes, remote control, and mobile alerts. We’ve broken down a comparison of the monthly fees you’ll have to pay for each system.

ADT protects my home and family. Crime is always on the rise here in Pine Bluff. You can’t seem to leave home without prying eyes watching our every move. We are protected 24/7. Wireless home security options keep your system connected via a cellular network with CellGuard. I love this option of being able to check on our home via cell phone. We feel more at ease when we leave home now. We have protection against burglary, fire, flood, carbon monoxide and video surveillance. Optional two-way voice intercom system lets you instantly talk to ADT whenever an alarm goes off with SecurityLink. You can call and get a free security quote, too. Prices are reasonable, and family safety is important. Record up to 30 seconds of a triggered event. Saves up to 30 days of continuous activity with a DVR. I feel this system is perfect for me and my family. Check out the website to see for yourself all that ADT has to offer. Thank you, ADT.
I have a question... Wouldn't it be cheaper and more affordable to just get my own security cams online and run those instead of adding these to my ADT contract? My husband brought this up because his brother in law has security cameras around the house and they run off the wifi and there is no monthly bill for them. I think it is like $10 a month for the app, that is it.
While most providers give you the option to add both indoor and outdoor cameras to your security package, SimpliSafe’s selection is limited to one indoor surveillance camera. The camera includes features like free streamable HD video and audio, 30-day storage, and night vision, but it doesn’t take snapshots of activity and can’t pan or move — basic features found on most surveillance cameras.

Agreed Nadia! For around $1 a day is a bargain to protect your family members and your possessions. Obviously an alarm system doesn't give you 100% confidence that a burglary won't take place but it minimizes the chances over 75% by having a monitored system. That is good to hear about your businesses and sounds like you will get a great deal on the 3rd set on your home. ADT also has the guarantees so if something does take place you have them and your insurance who are going to support you financially in recouping your lost costs.
I talked with a representative about a home security system. As we talked she asked me questions regarding number of windows/doors etc. She told me we would get window/doors sensors (never actually told me how many my mistake for not asking), also told me it wasn't a problem to include an extra key fob and the really great news was we were going to have all this "free" money to purchase anything else we wanted off the service truck. Salesman and installer arrive and we find out that extra key fob was coming out of our "free" money the representative never ever mentioned this fact.
Any smart security system worth its salt offers components that work together in a seamless environment and can be manipulated using customized rules. For example, you can create rules to have the lights turn on when motion is detected, have your doors unlock when a smoke alarm goes off, and have a camera begin recording when a sensor is triggered. Some systems store recorded video locally on an SD card or a solid state drive, while others offer cloud storage. Locally stored video is a good choice for do-it-yourselfers on a budget, but you have to be careful not to overwrite video that you may need later. Cloud storage makes it easy to store and access recorded video, but it can cost hundreds of dollars per year depending on your subscription. Some systems offer both cloud storage and local storage, and some provide a dedicated storage drive that gives you DVR capabilities with time-lapse recording, which makes it easy to find a video event that took place at a specific point in time.
It’s easy to see why SimpliSafe is a crowd favorite—especially among renters. Its no-contract, DIY approach caters to families on a budget, and it’s endorsed by money whiz Dave Ramsey. It’s a solid home security choice, but the lack of home automation features keeps it from rising higher on our list, though it did recently add a security camera to their offerings.

Also, don't expect ADT to listen to your complaint.  You won't get past helpdesk support. They suggest you write a letter if you want to speak to anyone higher that helpdesk.  A LETTER!, what century does this company live in. They must all drive to work using a Horse and Buggy. I knew at that point this wasn't the type of company that could provide me with the type of advanced security system you would expect in the 21st century.
ADT is the worst company ever! Their business model is literally extortion. If you enjoy paying thousands of dollars to have them mount stuff all around your home just to have them months later unilaterally decide to charge you more for your monthly service then literally tell you that you either pay or go to collections...then ADT is for you. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional company, they only care about getting you in a contract where they can then charge you whatever they want without any paperwork to back up their extra charges.

If This Then That or IFTTT for short, is a service that allows you to connect other services and applications together (using what IFTTT calls “applets”), letting you accomplish almost any task imaginable. For instance, you can use IFTTT to automatically cut off your phone’s WiFi when you leave home to save power. Just remember that if you use IFTTT to automatically disarm your system when you enter your home, your phone’s location service must be powered on. Otherwise you’ll get a loud surprise.
We recommend you get a good idea of what features and packages you want before calling to purchase, but be open to the advice from the sales rep. Our Frontpoint tester called on two separate occasions. The first time, she had a good idea of what she wanted system-wise but said she was still shopping around for a provider. The second time, she pretended to be an easy sell who just wanted a system but hadn’t done any research.
Unlike ADT and Vivint, Frontpoint home security systems are do-it-yourself installation. This means the company will send you the equipment to install on your own. DIY installation is easy and Frontpoint has a personalized website that will walk you through the process. And customer service reps are available should something go wrong. Like other top home security providers, Frontpoint also offers home automation and professional monitoring. However, only one Frontpoint package comes with video surveillance. But if you’re interested in Frontpoint, you could use a third-party security camera in conjunction with your Frontpoint system.
Do-it-yourself security setups are ideal for homeowners on a budget because they can save you a bundle on installation charges and subscription fees. Most DIY systems are easy to install and are sold as kits that you can configure to suit your specific needs. As your needs grow you can order additional sensors and other components at your convenience and pair them to the system in a matter of minutes. Your basic entry-level DIY system may only support one or two wireless protocols and usually offers a limited selection of add-on components, while more expensive DIY systems will support multiple wireless protocols and are compatible with dozens of add-on components.

It is for companies like these when you can't resist yourself saying, "Old is gold." After trying umpteen number of security companies in the past, I can without any doubt say that ADT is the boss in the business of home security. Solid equipment, nationwide-reach and efficient customer service being some of the many reasons why I say so. Nice review! I got to know a lot about them through this site.
I have experienced ADT security at several different places I have lived. The customer service reps are very professional and helpful. We experienced one bad experience where the alarm was going off for some technical reason but we received the phone call and the alarm sent the police to our house. It was a big mess but the only time that ever happened and considering the rest of the time our customer service was exceptional so we kind of over looked the one bad experience.
Thanks Joanna. That is up to you! They are the best for average consumer meaning: Don't want to install your own, want peace of mind and a company you can trust. They won't be selling your services to a different third party company like so many others. You can compare ADT to Vivint, Monitronics which are the other 2 big dogs in the professional install industry. Best of luck in choosing.
ADT home security costs can range from $9/week* to $14/week* based on your monitoring package. However, an ADT home security cost depends on which monitoring package best fits your needs. The ADT monthly fee for the standard Essentials package starts at $36.99/month*. For the most advanced ADT monitored security offer, homeowners can opt for the Premium Protection package at $52.99/month*.

ADT utilizes a nationwide network of authorized dealers as well as their own personnel to sell, install and support ADT security system. The dealer network allows ADT to maintain a local presence for their customers while providing the stability and service capabilities of a large, national security provider. However, it can also lead to an inconsistent experience for customers and negative customer reviews. Online customer reviews typically revolve around issues with local dealers and include missed appointments, aggressive upselling and misrepresentation.
To protect your privacy, Zmodo apps and 720p Wireless IP Camera devices connect to the Zmodo servers using bank-level AES 256-bit encryption and Transport Layer Security (TLS). All video and pictures are secured with AES 256-bit symmetric-key encryption. Only the customer can decrypt and view the video through approved clients (our mobile and web apps) with their account credentials. The Zmodo 720p Wireless IP Camera also has perfect forward secrecy, using AES 256-bit private keys for key exchange with the Zmodo servers. We also employ other security measures to protect private data, such as secure HTTP access (HTTPS) using TLS/SSL, and more.
Fortress security systems are capable of supporting multiple wireless accessories, and adding one or more accessories after the original purchase is quick and easy. Many accessories are also compatible across systems, so upgrading to a system with more features is also a breeze. If you're not sure which system is best for you, you can always upgrade when the time is right.
Many of ADT’s higher-end home automation offerings are customizable (although this will affect your final price). There’s a vacation mode that arms the system, keeps a steady temperature, and turns lights on and off to suggest that someone’s home. You can also set up situational operations. For example, if the sensor detects a fire, you can automate doors to unlock and the air conditioner to shut off, slowing the circulation of smoke.

I have been a loyal ADT customer for over 20 years. On December 13, 2016, my alarm went off early in the morning. It freaked me out BIG time. Never happened over the 20 years til now, the intruder most likely left before fully coming into my house. I have this alarm system to thank for keeping us safe. I didn't get evidence of the intruder so didn't have anything to pursue with. Glad I kept it over all the dull years to protect me during the one time it was needed.
Their security has a major loop-hole that could get you killed or your house could burn down and no one will ever be called. 1. If your home phone line goes down the word “communication” shows up. And that’s it. No call to secondary phones, nothing! That single word with no other warning as to what it means is all they do. That means: a home invasion break in could happen, you’re being raped or murdered or stealing all your valuables and no one is coming because no one knows. ADT says “...this is a low priority signal...” 2. Power goes out in your house or just the ADT system. A prerecorded message is left on your home phone but no secondary numbers. Message says,”...your power is... Read More
