Several days later a beep began to sound again – similar to the one previous. A call to ADT’s service centre assured us that it was not the panel or anything to do with the system. It was suggested that the beep may be coming from a smoke or carbon monoxide detector. Those devices ‘pip’ not ‘beep’. In any case, we replaced them because they were due. Still, we heard the beep. We even went as far as replacing the batteries in every device in the home that required them. Still, we heard the beep. The beep appeared to come from the panel area but without the low battery warning on the panel we continued our search/detection just in case we were mistaken and ADT was correct.
My father’s house is wired with ADT security and one time a thief broke into his house while he was away. ADT sent a alarm message to him and he confirmed that a trespasser must have been in his home. The police were called but the thief left before they could catch them. Regardless it scared the thief away and he ended up not stealing any valuable electronics or keepsakes. ADT has always had friendly customer service and the installation was quick and easy. My dad has been very satisfied and because of his good experience I plan on installing ADT in my new home. Although it costs money to install I believe the money is well worth the investment to protect your valuables and make your home safer. I would recommend ADT for any home. You never think theft will happen to you but when it does you want some security system in your home; trust me.
After being a customer for the past eight years, I tried to upgrade. My monthly price had exceeded $60 a month with old features. I scheduled to installs with the sales department. After hanging up the local office calls to confirm appointment they told the tech will collect the total payment. I said this was not agreed upon. Each time I had to call Customer service to try and straighten it out. Its been a total nightmare.
More lenient cancellation policies: Most home security companies have strict cancellation policies, and if you cancel before your contract is up, you’ll usually be required to pay 100% of the remaining charges. If you cancel ADT monitoring service, you’ll have to pay only 75% of the remaining charges, which is better than most of the other companies in the industry.
This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever received. I called in to order a security system through ADT after a break-in, and when I received my system, it was through Protection 1. The sales representative NOT ONCE disclosed to me that ADT Pulse and Protection 1 were the same company due to a merge. When I was signing my contract, I thought it was odd it said Protection 1, but the DISHONEST sales representative stated that I was just e-signing through that portal - as if it were just an e-sign software they were using instead of an actual DIFFERENT SYSTEM.
Horrendous! I would give ZERO stars if I could. ADT failed to do the one thing they were supposed to do!!! ADT sold me on safety and piece of mind yet ADT failed to properly setup the automation and alert settings on my ADT pulse. Today we were burglarized and because of ADT's egregious FAILURE, our cameras did not record the incident and we could not show any footage to the police officer. The burglar just walked away completely off the hook, even with us having 3 cameras plus a RING doorbell/cam. ADT YOU FAILED TO PROTECT OUR HOME!!!!
All in all, it's hard to go wrong with the trusted blue and white. Competitors still lack the brand name and good reputation that ADT has built over the past century. Being able to move anywhere in the USA and not pay a cancellation fee is a big plus. Great equipment, and a company that still installs the security system, they are our top recommendation for the average of a homeowner.
