Most of our testers had positive things to say about living with their home security systems. They reported that their systems improved their overall peace of mind. If you’re prone to fretting late at night or while away on vacation, home security systems deliver on their promise of reassurance. That’s not to say there weren’t annoyances — which can become major sore points if you’re interacting with your system every time you leave the house. LiveWatch’s piercing, impossible-to-mute beeps drew complaints from one tester, as did Link Interactive’s inaccurate digital display. After many hours spent trying to contact the right people within ADT to solve this problem, one of the customer service supervisors provided me with a statement credit and indicated that the manager at the local ADT office advised me to purchase a particular type of garage door opener (at my own expense), which should then work with ADT equipment. When I attempted to directly contact this local office manager in order to determine the exact equipment model to purchase, I left three voicemails, none of which were returned. I exchanged an email with someone at ADT (corporate, presumably) about the frustrating situation, but when I inquired about HOW to get the local office manager to call me back, she also stopped responding (I tried sending the email twice). When I tried calling the customer service supervisor who originally gave me a statement credit and advised me about the local office manager’s recommendation, that call also went unreturned.
At the end of the day, it's all about the sign outside your house. The respect err. fear from thieves and burgulars the sign of ADT commands is simply astonishing. The high deterrence quotient of ADT's very recognizable sign in itself is a very good reason for going with them. In the end, no one messes with a house with a yard sign that says, "Secured by ADT" in blues and whites and a great system to back it up. Enough said!
We have had ADT for 3 years & have never had any problems. We have recommended it to friends & they have had it installed & have had no problems either. Last year a Vivint salesman came to our door & my husband invited him in. I was not home so my husband spoke with him. The Vivint salesman put his feet on our coffee table while trying to talk my husband into cancelling our contract with ADT. Very unprofessional! We definitely will stay with ADT.
The ADT Traditional tier offers only theft and burglary protection hardware, while the Remote tier builds on that to include fire, smoke, and CO2 detection. The Remote tier includes the ability to arm and disarm your alarm via the web, receive email and text alerts, and adds the use of CellGuard backup, which provides a cell-based data and communications link in case your primary internet fails. The Control tier takes everything from the previous tiers and adds the basics of home automation, including climate control, lighting and appliance control, an upgraded touch-screen keypad, and remote (smart) door locks. Finally, the Video tier adds real-time video security and other optional extras like additional keypads if needed.
I am very upset with my ADT experience and contract. Your sales rep Daehan ** gave me inadequate information regarding your ADT service and contract. I was very upfront and concerned about switching from SafeNet to ADT because I was planning on moving the following year. He ASSURED me that the move of equipment, install and monitoring fees would not incur additional charges! He also did NOT disclose that there was a 36 month contract or an early termination fee. If I was properly informed of incurring additional charges for my move, I would NOT have switched security companies as my contract with SafeNet was complete. In order for me to set up a new security monitoring system at my new place of residence, I received an estimate for $461.
Accounts are not clear. Raising Payments every month. Constant harassing calls all times of the day. I really don't know what my true monthly payments are. Customer service right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Terrible customer relation. ADT is a nightmare. I am determine to get someone look into my account. Deceiving contracts. FRUSTRATING!!
When my contract with ADT expired, I contacted the company to disconnect my service, which they did, but they continued taking the monthly payment from my checking account. When I contacted the company, they advised that they owed me $424.23, and that they would reimburse. That was EIGHT years ago, and I haven’t gotten a cent. I’ve contacted the company numerous times, and they give me different stories each time. They’ll tell me that they sent the money to Illinois unclaimed funds- which they hadn’t, I checked. Recently, I spoke with a representative of ADT, followed up by a manager. The rep stated that she has numerous notes showing my attempts to get MY money back. The manager basically said that I was owed the money, and after a brief hold, advised that they owed me nothing. It’s been 8 years!! I think I’ve been more than accommodating. I’ve also kept notes, recording dates, times, names, and the info discussed. ADT you’re the theif that I need protection from.
