"When we saw there was an upsurge in break-ins near our home we decided to compare some of the different home security companies, and ended up going with ADT. Choosing ADT to keep our home and family protected was the smartest choice we could have made, so now we don't worry as much as before since we know we're protected by a company that's always keeping an eye on everything 24 hours a day. Thank you ADT!"

Do not use ADT! The salesman was a fast-talking con artist. My husband and I felt pressured to sign a contract without having time to read it. The salesman lied and told us we could cancel anytime. The contract is for 36 months, and if you try to cancel, you have to pay an incredibly large sum of money! Customer service is rude and antagonistic, and the actual alarm service itself is defective. Please don’t make the mistake that we did!

The best value plan offered by Protect Your Home is called Basic Security. It costs $27.99/month, or around just $7/week. It includes a base security system, panel, motion sensor, wireless sensors, and a wireless remote. For an additional $2/week you can get Basic Security with Equipment Service Protection. Both of these plans require a landline connection, so customers without a landline installed will need to opt for the next plan up.
While we took note of the general costs of each system provider, prices will vary greatly based on the equipment package that’s best for your home and security needs, and your preferred level of monitoring. For most DIY systems, the plans will include more than just a monitoring service. As you upgrade tiers, you gain access to facial detection, custom modes, remote control, and mobile alerts. We’ve broken down a comparison of the monthly fees you’ll have to pay for each system.
When I got divorced and moved into a new home with my two young boys my parents purchased me an ADT security system. I didn’t think it was necessary, but I’m so grateful now. I don’t have to worry about putting my kids to bed and thinking “what if”. ADT monitors all of those what ifs. We are all safe at night and when I come home to an empty house with my boys in the evening I can feel secure that my house is as well. Thanks ADT and mom and dad.

Vivint outranked every other home security system in J.D. Power’s customer satisfaction evaluation; it was the only company to earn five out of five Power Circles. According to the report, “Vivint Smart Home performs well in high-importance attributes: effectiveness of securing my home; ease of using the system; timeliness of resolving problem, question or request; and clarity of information provided for customer service.”

I am very upset with my ADT experience and contract. Your sales rep Daehan J gave me inadequate information regarding your ADT service and contract. I was very upfront and concerned about switching from Safenet to ADT because I was planning on moving the following year. He ASSURED me that the move of equipment, install and monitoring fees would not incur additional charges! He also did NOT disclose that there was a 36 month contract or an early termination fee. If I was properly informed of incurring additional charges for my move, I would NOT have switched security companies as my contract with Safenet was complete. In order for me to set up a new security monitoring system at my new place of residence, I received an estimate for $461. I discussed with Brad B, another sales rep of ADT corporate and he did help bring down the price but not after over 3 hours of 6 different customer services representatives. I am not pleased with your company nor ADT. Even though Daehan was working for an “authorized ADT dealer”, he is still representing the ADT BRAND.

First, you can choose a dual-element sensor that can tell the difference between a pet (weighing up to 100 pounds) and a human. This requires two beams to be triggered at the same time in order to sound the alarm, which is difficult for your pet to do unless you have more than one and they’re prone to fighting or playing. Alternatively, you could choose to place beams high enough above the floor so as to avoid detecting your pets – creating “pet alleys.”

Ross, a big welcome!! We could not be happier to hear how safe ADT makes you and your family feel. Your safety and peace of mind means the absolute world to us. Thank you so much for allowing ADT to monitor your home for the past two years. We are looking forward to monitor you daughter's and son-in-law's home in the near future! Have a great day, Ross! -Katie
With over 140 years of experience, ADT is one of the most popular and dependable security providers in the nation, covering both homes and businesses in the United States and Canada with reliable monitoring and top-notch home automation options. Its plans range from $36.99 to $58.99 with a $99 activation fee, and they require a 36-month minimum contract with applicable early cancellation fees.
In regard to ADT customer service, the BBB rating varies by area. For example, Florida headquarters provide excellent customer service and maintain an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. This is mainly because ADT relies on company authorized independent dealers whose customer support agents might not be up to par with ADT’s standards. Remember to check locally and read reviews before committing to a provider. Also, look for a dealer that is BBB accredited.

When it comes to deterring potential break-ins, brand recognition has significant value. In fact, a study from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte Department of Criminal Justice & Criminology found that a security sign was more of a deterrent to burglars than outdoor lighting and a neighborhood watch. An ADT sign in your front yard is a good bet if you want to know you’re protected (and want other people to know it, too).

When pairing your security system with smart features, the app enables a whole host of home control. You can alter home temperatures when the smart thermostat is too many stairs away or if you’re on vacation and want to monitor energy consumption. With smart locks, you can automate your doors to lock on a schedule and sync your alarm with your door’s entry pad (so when you enter the unlock pin, your alarm system will disarm, too).
We’ve been extremely pleased since our switch to ADT. Our business is attached to our residence, and our alarm system covers both office and living spaces. With two keypads and several trigger spots (doors, windows and a motion detector), we are fully protected at all hours of the day or night. We’ve had a few technical glitches, but our local response service has been very efficient in fixing the problems. And always so friendly!

It’s easy to see why SimpliSafe is a crowd favorite—especially among renters. Its no-contract, DIY approach caters to families on a budget, and it’s endorsed by money whiz Dave Ramsey. It’s a solid home security choice, but the lack of home automation features keeps it from rising higher on our list, though it did recently add a security camera to their offerings.
I have the ADT Premier Pulse system.  I got a good price on the install and the system worked.  Enjoy the automation.  I have added over a dozen of my own modules using the installer code.  Recently I wanted to expand the system with wired camera’s.  To do this requires an IP server/decoder called the NV412A-ADT.  This unit costs about 75 dollars with an ADT analog camera at 250.00  installing one unit can be pretty pricey.  I had analog ADT cameras from another source (ebay) much cheaper.  My local ADT sales person seemed unable or unwilling to purchase the NV412’s for me.  I posted on their facebook page and got a quick response.  They made me advise them of the camera model numbers before they would sell me the product.  My local sales person eventually just stopped trying to help.  I was shocked by that.  Bottom line, they wanted to do the install.  I don’t need them to.  Since they were not going to make any money on the deal they didn’t seem to worried about moving quickly on this issue.  Very frustrating.  I do love the system.
