Many times agreed to visit me, let’s say Wednesday morning so I decided to stay and wait just to receive a call that afternoon to reschedule. Can you believe it? Not even explaining/apologizing first. During the 4 years happened at least 3 times. Sensors falling to the floor and activating the alarm causing the cops to come to finally find out that the sensor simply fell from the double face tape it was holding it. Yes, double face tape. Also, if you move in the middle of the 3 years contract, you are not allowed to continue the agreement at the new address. You need to start 3 years again or pay the whole remaining months. I WOULD NEVER GO BACK OR RECOMMEND ADT.

I am very upset with my ADT experience and contract. Your sales rep Daehan J gave me inadequate information regarding your ADT service and contract. I was very upfront and concerned about switching from Safenet to ADT because I was planning on moving the following year. He ASSURED me that the move of equipment, install and monitoring fees would not incur additional charges! He also did NOT disclose that there was a 36 month contract or an early termination fee. If I was properly informed of incurring additional charges for my move, I would NOT have switched security companies as my contract with Safenet was complete. In order for me to set up a new security monitoring system at my new place of residence, I received an estimate for $461. I discussed with Brad B, another sales rep of ADT corporate and he did help bring down the price but not after over 3 hours of 6 different customer services representatives. I am not pleased with your company nor ADT. Even though Daehan was working for an “authorized ADT dealer”, he is still representing the ADT BRAND.
When my contract with ADT expired, I contacted the company to disconnect my service, which they did, but they continued taking the monthly payment from my checking account. When I contacted the company, they advised that they owed me $424.23, and that they would reimburse. That was EIGHT years ago, and I haven’t gotten a cent. I’ve contacted the company numerous times, and they give me different stories each time. They’ll tell me that they sent the money to Illinois unclaimed funds- which they hadn’t, I checked. Recently, I spoke with a representative of ADT, followed up by a manager. The rep stated that she has numerous notes showing my attempts to get MY money back. The manager basically said that I was owed the money, and after a brief hold, advised that they owed me nothing. It’s been 8 years!! I think I’ve been more than accommodating. I’ve also kept notes, recording dates, times, names, and the info discussed. ADT you’re the theif that I need protection from.

We had an ADT alarm system installed yesterday.  The gentleman who installed it was very nice. I felt in no way pressured to buy more equipment. He gave me his suggestions as to what he recommended, and then ended his suggestions with “It is your home, you have the final decision.” He was very professional, took off his shoes upon entering my home, and did a very good job. He even waited until my husband got home from work to explain the system to him. I am very pleased with everything I have experienced so far and hope to stay that way.

I run a small apartment complex and wanted to get a reliable protection service and it looks like ADT is the only one that offers the ability to allow me to make separate logins and new pass codes. The apartments I run are 3 month leases so they are for people in between housing or moving, ect.

He did an excellent job in checking for any issues, malfunctions or errors with the installation before he left. ADT is a great product for people that care to secure their home. Yes, it can be pricey for $129 per window sensor, but it’s worth protecting your family and belongings. They offer a lifetime warranty on anything. If a battery dies, they come out and replace it for free. If a sensor stops working they come out and replace it for free. I’m not sure what these other reviewers are experiencing, but we are extremely happy with ADT and Brian from Protect Your Home in Santa Clarita.
After the first year of service, ADT can increase the monitoring fee anytime and as frequently– as it wants. However, if you provide written notice of your objection to the price increase within 30 days or receipt of notice, ADT may either reconsider the adjustment or allow you to terminate the contract without paying cancellation fees. Changes in monitoring rates do happen, but they are not common and infrequent.

At the end of the day, I believe that ADT wants to provide a good product and customer service, however, communication system is disjointed, broken and ineffective. The most disappointing thing is the fact that three different parties in different parts of their organization have gone completely cold in response to my attempts to determine how to fix my problem. I can only assume that they are completely incapable of addressing situations that are outside of the norm, especially when the issue is something that they should have informed me about before the equipment was installed. This is not only a disgrace from a customer service perspective, but completely insulting to a consumer who has a choice when selecting a home security service.
2 months ago my truck was broken into,my wallet swollen and my bank account drained.i will never forget the following day at work.the whole day I was worried about the thieves having my driver’s license and knowing my address.i didn’t have a security system and feared they would return and rob my home as well.with 3 children at home in couldn’t help but to be frightened and worried.as my day at work was coming to an end,all I could do was pray for some way to protect my family.i was home about 2 hrs.when there was a knock at the door. It was ADT!They explained how they were in the area selling systems and could choose 2 homes for a special promotion.they chose mine as one of those home.they did and said all the right things.i now fell my ho.e and family are so secure now.i told my family about my praying and God delivered. November 6th 2018, I had the worst experience with a customer service manager who works for account management in Jacksonville, Florida. She was so nasty with me and spoke to me with so much attitude and no respect. She was not polite, nor did she mention her name when asked. I had to get her name from another representative the next day. I also asked her to read her notes so that she can familiarize herself with my situations and how many times I have been in contact with her department and she refused to do so. Porsha Fisher abruptly hung up on me out of frustration and also sent me a bill for over 1000$ out of frustration and threatened to send me to the debt collection agency.
We had ADT come to give us a quote on their equipment for home security. We already have a different system installed in our home. The salesman told us he had to connect ADT's keypad to see if we had enough juice to operate their system. He proceeded to take our existing keypad off the way and put his on. When all was done we decided not to go with the ADT system because it was too expensive for us.
I was satisfied with ADT and as a single woman, my security system gave me the peace of mind I needed to relax in my home with out fearing for my safety. I also enjoyed knowing that when I went on vacation, my house was secure. Many advances in home security systems have been developed since I had my system though and I would love to see what is available now with closed circuit cameras etc.
Install was performed by subcontractor and done wrong. ADT charged me again to have someone else do it right, still isn’t correct. Cars were broken into which had two cameras on them and didn’t record any of it. The cameras only record 30 second increments with 2 minutes in between, I’m guessing criminals also know this. Contract end date keeps changing, further and further out. Avoid ADT at all cost. There’s much cheaper services out there that actually work.
The SimpliSafe system requires a professional monitoring subscription to receive alerts. That’s because it relies on a cellular connection rather than internet, so someone needs to send you an SMS text. There’s no option to receive automatic in-app alerts. You’ll have to upgrade to the $25-per-month plan to save yourself the task of keeping a constant eye on the video feed. (That’s still $10 less than Frontpoint’s cheapest plan, though.)
We have been with ADT for over a year and so far we are satisfied with the service provided. We did have a problem with incessant beeping only to realise that the battery was running low. A technician rectified the problem within two days. He was very courteous and removed his shoes without being asked to do so. I did, however, have to take time off work to accommodate ADT’s service hours.
Then he tells me I get two free sensors with my package and must purchase each additional sensor.  Ordinarily, I would understand this, but when I spoke with the sales rep, he promised 7 sensors with my package at no additional cost.  There’s my third issue.  The sensors are $150 each but you can buy them online for only $30 to $50 and are exactly the same but you have to “learn” them into your panel, which the installers will not do (understandable, sure).

For many, ADT is synonymous with home security; and for most of its 140+ year history, ADT had a lock on the market. Even today, the security giant claims 25 percent of the home security market, appealing to homeowners who want a professionally installed system from a recognized brand. The company has detractors who claim contracts and service is inconsistent among the 400+ authorized ADT dealers across the nation; customers may not know if they’re signing agreements with ADT corporate or with a local dealer who is managing the account. Considering the size of the company, ADT does well at keeping pace with technological advances in the industry as we can see from their numerous ADT Pulse packages. And because their dealer network is nationwide, homeowners anywhere in the country can have access to a professionally installed, security system.
I love all of the features with this new system. It’s great for pet owners. I do have to say that it is a little confusing how the packages are displayed online, versus what you can get from the company on the phone, or in person. I currently have the middle tier, but I’m maxed out on ‘points’ for more equipment. I can apparently buy the hardware at full price and install it for it to work, but I cannot get it for free like the rest of the equipment.This isn’t a huge drawback, since I did get free hardware and install, but it’s not stated clearly online. So far everything has been working great, and I’m excited to not worry about break-ins or fires. Wish the contract was not for 5 years. Seems a little excessive.

The technician explained that ADT’s broadband systems have trouble connecting to Suddenlink routers, which our tester had, so he tried a different kind of command hub. After he left, our tester noticed he was charged $190 more than his original quote. The new equipment was significantly more expensive because it worked on cellular signals instead of Wi-Fi. We wish we had known about that extra charge upfront.
Also, don't expect ADT to listen to your complaint.  You won't get past helpdesk support. They suggest you write a letter if you want to speak to anyone higher that helpdesk.  A LETTER!, what century does this company live in. They must all drive to work using a Horse and Buggy. I knew at that point this wasn't the type of company that could provide me with the type of advanced security system you would expect in the 21st century.
I bought a house back in 2015 and decided to have a security system installed since I wasn’t going to be home much and would like some peace of mind. ADT was a pretty well known security company in my area and a few families in my neighborhood have ADT so I gave them a call. I ended up selling the house after a year and a half since I travel too much for work. I called to cancel my service to be told that I signed a three year contract and that I’d have to pay the remainder of the contract or I wouldn’t be able to cancel. I told them that I did not sign a contract and I was not made aware of there being a contract. The contract that I supposedly signed was emailed to me and the “signature” on the contract was nowhere close to mine. I was told to fill out a fraud package, to which I did. I filled out and sent in a fraud package only for the fraud department to say that my signature was “confirmed” and that it was me who sign it. How could I have sign a contract I was never informed about or seen? The only form I signed was the installment agreement and nowhere did it say I have to have the service for three years.
We have had ADT for 3 years & have never had any problems. We have recommended it to friends & they have had it installed & have had no problems either. Last year a Vivint salesman came to our door & my husband invited him in.  I was not home so my husband spoke with him. The Vivint salesman put his feet on our coffee table while trying to talk my husband into cancelling our contract with ADT. Very unprofessional! We definitely will stay with ADT.

J comes in and starts looking around and does his ultimate security evaluation which would cover every window door and crack in my house against burglars.  $5,000 to cover all of that.  I said no and he went down the list to cover just the downstairs, then the back of the downstairs, then just the doors. This was the second issue of his high pressure sales tactics “I’m not trying to scare you, but…” That’s exactly what it felt like he was trying to do.

1 week ago I agreed on the price I would pay monthly for the alarm service with ADT. The installer came today and the prices of what we had talked on the phone were very, very different, but the surprise was that when the installer came to my house she began to uninstall the existing alarm system and after all that she tells me that the price was different from the one I had agreed on by phone so therefore I canceled the service and had the old alarm system reconnected
