I have been an ADT client for a long time. At the point when my mom turned out to be sick and expected to remain home more often, I began to look into upgrading my system for one with video and ability for her to see who was at our door. After many research I found that plan require me to either include their TV products or services. Change I was not interested in making. So I upgrade with ADT, and our needs were met. My mother can choose whether or not she needs to her energy to answer the door.
The Ring and the Nest thermostats also use my home Verizon Fios-based Wi-Fi network as their primary path to the Internet. All the other devices either don't need my internet or are connected via cabled connections through my Fios router (you'll only need one port open) and their own wireless connectivity tied to the Z-Wave controller ADT installed in my basement. If the primary internet goes down, the CellGuard backup system kicks in, and every device has battery backup in case the power goes out. The Ring and Nest devices, however, are Wi-Fi-only, and this posed a problem for the Ring as my front door proved a pretty effective wireless signal killer. Initially, the Ring only worked about 20 percent of the time. ADT, however, immediately ordered and, a few days later, installed a Ring range extender, that solved the problem. I also could have ordered this myself or simply augmented my Wi-Fi network signal strength (which I've done since), but I wanted to see what ADT would do on its own first.
A few min later he comes to me and tells me he’s got bad news and all my stuff is out date. (i thought that was pretty fun because I had looked in the box downstairs before calling and the inside cover clearly had a sticker on it stating it was install about 10 months earlier) I played along… He did his little sales pitch about giving me better stuff and blah blah then he says it’s like $700 to replace what I had as he’s shoving paperwork & a pen at me. I told him he was out of his mind! So then he tells me he’s gonna call his boss and see what he can do, a few minutes later he tells me he can give it to me for free. At this point I’m totally weirded out by the guy and told him I needed time to think and could I call him later. He got totally indignit with me and couldn’t understand what my problem was and that it was free. I asked him to leave and he sat down at my kitchen table! I tried to be very polite but he wouldn’t get up he said he was gonna see what else he could work out or something ridiculous. I left the room and called my neighbor who came over and removed the man from my house. It was absolutely insane!
This is the worst company around . Very poor service fought with them for over 2 weeks to transfer to new place. They set appointments then never show up. This started April 21 they finally showed up April 30 to remove the system put it in a plastic bag handed it to me said I will be back at 9 AM May 1 to install at new house. For the 4 time it was a no show. Finally showed up May 10 and half ass installed it. As of today we still up able to use it. I also found they charged my account. Whatever you do not use this worthless company unless you want all your stuff stolen due to ADT not being able to provide a good service of protecting you home and family. ADT you are more then welcome to call me you have the number but you will not like the conversation. I give the same respect you give to me. So you know that it going to be a crappy conversation to match your crappy company service.

When you installed your services in CO, you would have signed and been provided with a copy of your residential services agreement, that clearly spells out the term of the agreement, 36 months. I am extremely disappointed with my most recent encounter with an ADT technician by the name of John C. for starters I greeted him kindly and he completely ignored me as if I was speaking to someone else in the room . Upon him asking me what issues I was having with my system, he kept cutting me off stating we were using the system incorrectly, and raising his voice at me to the point he was practically yelling at me answering me in a scornful manner. For someone whose job consists of interacting with other people and in this case required going into people’s homes where they are supposed to be helping a person, his behavior was very rude and unacceptable. The equipment, security system and ADT Pulse has been great. Just had a rough start with the tech but I suppose not all of them are going to be like that, he could've been having a bad day.
Emergency sensors are an added layer of security most people don't always think about. Flood sensors will help to detect and notify you of any moisture in your home caused by flooding, burst pipes, or any other water-related emergency. One of the best ways to determine whether a company is going to be right for you or not is to speak to previous clients. Ask for some references and speak to these people about their experiences with the company – was everything completed on time and to a high standard? Are the police contacted straight away if there’s an intrusion? Have they come across any problems during their time with the company? You might also be able to find out this information (unbiased) through online reviews.
I was very impressed and pleased with the service received today, Sept. 2, 2014 by technician xxxxxxx. He was very professional and efficient in changing out/updating my control panel and demonstrating features of my system that I never before knew. xxxxxx was respectful of my alarm areas and even dusted off the top of my control box so the dust wouldn’t fall on the floor. He ended the call by making sure I had no more questions or concerns and by conducting a final check of my system. He exemplifies true customer service!
Just canceled my alarm monitoring as of 10/29/2018 'cause they were ripping me off at $42 a month! I have an old BHS-4000A alarm system that was installed 10 years ago which can function independently, non monitored, and as a stand alone unit. Found out the hard way that ADT locks down your entire alarm system when you cancel!! I can't even use it as a stand alone alarm!! Even ADT's phone number shows up on the keypad display to call them!! These scumbags at ADT are holding my alarm, that I own, hostage!! It's all over the internet that they do this! 'Security' company my **!! Stay away from this company! They are not in the business to protect you, just their own wallet! Hey ADT, want to change my mind? Unlock my alarm!
All in all, I'd have to say that this is a decent setup. It's a basic security system that is easy to install and that my wife can easily operate. There are a few quirks that I'm not clear as to whether they are solvable or not, but these don't appear to impact functionality. It performs the basic tasks that it's supposed to perform in an apparently reliable manner, so far.
ADT security cameras offer an added benefit to your ADT home security package. Although not available on most of their contract plan, ADT security cameras can be installed on the ADT pulse video contract. You can expect around $49+/month for monitoring services. They also have promotions going on and can get a connected home security system with it for low cost.
I got ADT for some reasons most don't think of. I am a business man and I know it takes years and years to build and structure a working business properly. I bought the ADT alarm because they have several monitoring stations throughout the USA all with backup features in case they get hit with a natural disaster. Their support is also levels deep in security and these are things you will not find in a review or hear about with newer companies. By them handling so many monthly customers has given them a reliable structure to handle big problems.
The Pulse app is downloadable via the Google Play Store for Android devices and iTunes for iPhones and iPads. The app can be used to view your system’s status, arm/disarm the system, check motion sensors, turn off lights, and lock doors. It displays a status alert when the alarm system is tripped, and a message is sent to the monitoring center who notifies the police if needed. Those with a Pulse system can also use the app to view surveillance footage of their home in real-time. There is also an ADT Pulse® Voice app. With this app, you can control your home’s smart devices with your voice.
I said I'm being relocated to NYC, not cancelling your service because I don't want it anymore. How am I supposed to plan for that when I initiate your service? Plus I'm keeping my other account open. He said you signed a 3 year contract and have to pay out the remainder regardless. And he wouldn't escalate me to a supervisor. I think this is outrageous and a horrible way to treat a customer. And thats why I'm posting my first ever review. I'm furious.

In regard to ADT customer service, the BBB rating varies by area. For example, Florida headquarters provide excellent customer service and maintain an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. This is mainly because ADT relies on company authorized independent dealers whose customer support agents might not be up to par with ADT’s standards. Remember to check locally and read reviews before committing to a provider. Also, look for a dealer that is BBB accredited.
When we purchased our system it was for peace of mind for our home. Never would we have thought that it would be what saves our daughter. Thanks to ADT when her ex-boyfriend came through the front door they alerted the police of the intruder alert and just almost a mins after police showed and he was found trying to kidnapp my daughter. The quick response of alerting the police is what makes me stay and will forever be a ADT customer. Forever grateful.
Wow, I am blown away here. Did anyone read the ad you got in the mail, on the internet? Did you listen to the recording when you called in? It say’s free setup of 2 door sensors, 1 motion sensor and 1 keyless remote. NO WHERE does it say they cover all of your windows extra doors ect at no extra charge. These are all upgrades you can add to your account just like a smart phone VS a little flip phone or a neon VS a viper. You pay for what you get. You are getting 99 dollars worth. They have to pay for the parts, pay the installer pay for the advertising ( That flyer you called in on is not free)
