Link Interactive offers 12-, 24-, and 36-month contract options, which makes it great for renters and anyone who isn’t ready for a long-term commitment. Alarm monitoring prices start at $31 and go up to $41 per month, making it more affordable than Frontpoint or Vivint and one of the more competitively priced professionally monitoring services on our list.
I too heard a lot about my friends and neighbors about ADT, but chose to ignore them and tried other small time companies just to save few bucks. In my quest to save few bucks here and there, I actually lost much more money and time which I could have saved by just going with the top guys in the industry. Life has been much smoother and relaxed after making a switch to ADT.
After being a customer for the past eight years, I tried to upgrade. My monthly price had exceeded $60 a month with old features. I scheduled to installs with the sales department. After hanging up the local office calls to confirm appointment they told the tech will collect the total payment. I said this was not agreed upon. Each time I had to call Customer service to try and straighten it out. Its been a total nightmare.
I know that ADT is one of the best companies out there but I swear it has gone to their heads. I had used their service in the late 90's before losing my first home. Years later, I come back to them after being a customer with them for 9 years and they treated me like crap. The man I spoke to on the phone kept cutting me off when I was trying to ask questions, and long story short I over paid for something I didn't even want because the rep failed to listen to me. Could just be a rep issue??

They will not stop their auto payment system and are overcharging us too. They will not stop their services until I respond to a email that came 1 week after my first call but I didn't see it before it expired. We are being charged more than contract price too. When I called again today, just like my first attempt, I was in hold for over 20 minutes. Again, I was told to expect an email and respond to it before they will cancel their auto pay. WHY SHOULDN'T THEY STOP THEIR SYSTEM? I told my wife that I guess we will have to close our bank account and move our money someplace else!
ADT is not an honest company. Worse company ever. Very bad customer service , useless and they toss you around from one vendor to the other!End result nothing we can do , just pay your bill and shut the hell up.I would never recommend this company to anyone and I will make sure my comments are showing on every social media .Bottom line, they don’t tell you that you are locked in a 3 year contract ,and if you relocate , they will renew your contract for a new 3 years term! What a rip -off.
Just like smart plugs and keyless deadbolts may not be for everyone, neither is self-monitoring. If you opt to DIY your system’s monitoring, it’s up to you to take action on reported activity. If you can handle fielding alerts (for both false alarms and real break-ins), just be sure that you keep your phone’s volume on and the battery charged. But if you suspect you may want the undivided attention of professional monitoring in the future, go with a company whose professional monitoring practices and prices align with your needs.

I tested ADT Pulse (starting at $28.99 per month plus components and installation), which combines the company's alarm and security service with home automation and monitored surveillance. ADT easily rivals its top competitors, including Vivint Smart Home, in functionality, though if you opt for the top of its service tiers as I did, you might want to prep yourself for sticker shock. Even so, ADT Pulse earns our Editors' Choice for home security systems.
Looking at the different ADT monitoring packages, several things jump out. When you upgrade from Basic, you’ll get wireless security monitoring included with your package. Also, both ADT Pulse® packages include mobile access and alerts—giving you more control over your home and more peace of mind. And these are just a few of the differences.
