2018 update: Security giant Protection 1 has purchased ADT for yet another buyout. However, they will be keeping the brand name the same since it is such a big company. Protection 1 will be merging their residential customers over to ADT and use the Protection 1 brand for businesses and the ADT for residential. If you are a current customer do not worry, your monitoring fees and services are not going to change.

ADT's latest rev of its software also supports its own Amazon Alexa skill. According to ADT, customers with an Alexa-enabled device, like an Amazon Echo, will be able to use it to arm and disarm their alarms and even access their smart devices using Alexa's voice recognition. However, this is not biometric voice security, meaning your individual voice pattern will not be enough to access the system; you'll still need to enter your alarm code or Pulse access pin number verbally.

I have been using ADT for 8 years and there is no doubt in their service. Originally I wanted to go with another company just for the namesake of not being with ADT but after talking with neighbors and family I heard enough bad stories about random companies I went ahead with this one. And of course is established in 1874 so it the best service in this field.
This company sucks! They insisted that I needed an ugrade to my monitoring to wireless. They sent out a rep that changed my system to wireless. Well the sensor in my bedroom kept signaling that there was break in. The police came out 3 times, where I was charged for 3 false alarms. I called ADT to complain, they said that I had to pay for the false alarms and show them proof of payment to be reimbursed. They sent out their tech, that fixed the problem and I mailed them proof of payment for the false alarms. We went around and aroud with them sayig theey had to investigate the problem! What?! My father, age 75, contacted ADT to switch to their service based on an advertised offer. He explained to the customer service representative he had Vonage for his phone service. The customer service rep. said she was not sure if the system could be installed without a landline. She scheduled the appointment and told my father to ask the technician. I seems odd that the customer service representative could not speak to my father’s situation, since it is not uncommon. As directed,my father asked the technician about installing the service with Vonage. He further explained the package he was expecting to be installed. The technician stated “I got you”. The technician then proceeded to install a thousand dollar system. When my father would not agree to the monthly payment, the technician got his supervisor on the phone to apply more pressure. When my father would not agree to pay the monthly fees associated with the system installed, the supervisor directed the technician to take the system out. The technician removed the ADT equipment but refused to reconnect my father’s existing equipment. Now my father has to pay for a service call and reinstallation of his previous service. My father is on a fixed income and does not have money to spare. I am thankful the he has his wits about him and did not yield to undue sales pressure. Shame on you ADT!!!!

Overall, it works great. I tested the camera via the web app, on my Samsung Galaxy S7 running the Android Pulse mobile app, and on my Apple iPad Pro running the iOS Pulse app. Video resolution was excellent across all three views, though it's especially striking on the iPad due to its excellent screen. My only ding is what does and doesn't set off the camera can be a little erratic at times, with cars passing by on the street triggering it, but the garbage man walking down the driveway sometimes not doing the trick. That's only a few feet, however, and anyone traveling all the way down the driveway or walking from the street to the front door has, so far, always been recorded.

Worst service ever. Was told that I would be quoted one thing when I ended up having to spend much more. Have been trying to get reimbursed for over a month now.
