Many ADT home security systems are actually sold, installed and serviced by a nationwide network of authorized dealers, which may not maintain the same professional standards or offer the same equipment and deals as ADT corporate. It’s sometimes hard to tell if you’re buying a system from corporate or a dealer. ADT corporate websites include the logo, “ADT Always There,” whereas authorized dealers, like security giant Defender, ADT’s largest dealer markets ADT under the brand “Protect Your Home”. Dealers such as Defender, Security Choice and ADS Security Inc. will display an “ADT Authorized Dealer” logo on their web site, but some consumers may not notice the difference from ADT’s corporate logo.

It's no question that ADT is one of the more popular alarm systems. I am now planning on purchasing a new home and doing my research on home security systems and ADT keeps on popping up. I'm attracted to the technology that they employ such as the Pulse app and placing an ADT sign in front of my new house will surely deter to-be robbers. Thanks for sharing the review, do you recommend ADT as the best home security system currently on the market?

Video doorbells offer an easy way to see who is at your door without having to open or even get close to the door. These devices connect to your Wi-Fi network and will send an alert when someone approaches your doorway. They'll record video when the doorbell is pressed or when motion is detected, and usually offer two-way audio communication that allows you to speak with the visitor from anywhere via your phone.
We appreciate SimpliSafe’s confidence in its own equipment and service. The company offers a 60-day money-back guarantee and a three-year warranty on equipment. To prevent triggering a false alarm, SimpliSafe Home Security provides additional sensor settings: High, Medium, and Low. This allows you to adjust your sensor settings to keep you from accidentally triggering a motion sensor.
Again, all of the issues that we encountered in the first few months were frustrating, but taken individually (or even collectively), these issues wouldn’t necessarily compel me to persuade consumers to NOT use ADT since most of the technicians and customer service agents which whom I interacted generally appeared to have good intentions to help customers and to provide good customer service.
5 years ago my next door neighbors were robbed. I’m not sure what they took but what we knew was that there house had been watched for days by this guy. None of us in the neighborhood felt safe. We got ADT right after that & haven’t regretted it since! We’ve never had a REAL incident but my uncle had come over once late after a night out. As soon as the alarm went off so did the phone. ADT was quick to respond. We all sleep better with ADT!
For over two years, I paid ADT monthly for my alarm system, only to find out that they were not actually receiving signals from my home (so, in fact, the alarm system did not work). In compensation, they offered me 6 months at $15/month. Need to test your system more often people and make sure the monitoring company is calling you when the alarm gets set off regardless of what company you have; this should be done!
To sum up the questions of ADT cost, California Security Pro offers you competitive pricing, great specials and we will match the price on any current ADT special offer or price for a comparable system and installation. What might also be considered in the value of your system is excellent customer service. I am sure that you will agree with over  900 5-star customer reviews that our company culture of being customer obsessed has created some pretty great customer satisfaction. Our price match policy assures you can get the best value from the company that will take the best care of your needs.

The Fortress S03 WiFi Alarm System offers some of the most advanced technology in the Fortress lineup. With your equipment in place, ADT monitors via six different UL listed monitoring centers. All of the centers are manned by professional operators who can notify you and the local authorities in the event of an emergency. Monitoring is offered via broadband, cellular, or a landline connection. Without a doubt, cellular monitoring is the safest option as it doesn’t rely on cables or wires; however, the option comes with a higher price.
Smart guy Dallin! So many people think a gun is enough but we hear so many stories of home invasions happening when the gun wasn't close enough to get or the burglar getting in at night and the residents sleeping through it until it's too late. At least with any alarm system in place you get a good 30 second warning to get things ready in case of a face to face conflict.
Fortress Security Store offers a variety of sensor options. We can help to protect your home or business from burglars, fires (through detection of smoke), gas leaks, and water leaks. internal Antenna Sensor design allows for easy installation in a variety of circumstances. If you are looking for an inexpensive customizable system you've come to the right place.
We’ve never had a bad experience when dealing with Frontpoint home security. It’s a straightforward, stress-free experience every time we call in to mystery shop, and Frontpoint reps are always willing to answer any question we throw at them. They’ll stay on the line with you and walk you through questions or concerns, and never once have we been pressured to buy or upgrade equipment.

Technology from ADT gets great reviews, despite the wide assortment of products. You can rest assured that everything from ADT is at least industry standard quality, if not better. While the monthly fees may seem high, ADT’s pricing doesn’t stray far from the pack, and in certain cases may be cheaper than other brands. You will lock into a 36-month agreement, but given the eight to eleven year average lifespan of a security system, this timeframe is relatively short compared to other providers’, which can be as long as a 5-year agreement.
Do-it-yourself security setups are ideal for homeowners on a budget because they can save you a bundle on installation charges and subscription fees. Most DIY systems are easy to install and are sold as kits that you can configure to suit your specific needs. As your needs grow you can order additional sensors and other components at your convenience and pair them to the system in a matter of minutes. Your basic entry-level DIY system may only support one or two wireless protocols and usually offers a limited selection of add-on components, while more expensive DIY systems will support multiple wireless protocols and are compatible with dozens of add-on components.

The technician explained that ADT’s broadband systems have trouble connecting to Suddenlink routers, which our tester had, so he tried a different kind of command hub. After he left, our tester noticed he was charged $190 more than his original quote. The new equipment was significantly more expensive because it worked on cellular signals instead of Wi-Fi. We wish we had known about that extra charge upfront.

THE LIGHT CAME ON UP BY THE GARAGE THAT MY HUSBANDS BUSINESS WAS IN EARLY MORNING STILL DARK OUT I KNEW SOMETHING WASN’T RIGHT I RAN UP TO SEE AND SURE ENOUGH ,A KID WAS TRYING TO GET INTO OUR BUSINESS HE SAW ME AND GOT ANGRY AND BECAME VERY VIOLENT TOWARDS BE FORTUNATELY IT HAD SET OF AN ALARM TO OUR LOCAL COPS AND THEY WERE ON THERE WAY SO I TOLD HIM THAT AND HE TOOK OFF REALLY QUICK LEAVING ME ALONE NO LONGER HASSLING ME. THE LOCAL POLICE CAUGHT UP WITH HIM SHORTLY AFTER, AND HE WAS TAKEN TO JAIL. HE HAD A WARRANT OUT FOR AN ASSAULT TO A WOMEN IN WHICH SHE WAS 9 MTHS PREGNANT. HE HAD REALLY HURT HER BAD. I THANK MY LUCKY STARS EVERYDAY FOR OUR ADT 🙂
We had Adt and then after awhile shut it off. We recently made the decision to turn our services back on and they were amazing! The Adt crew came out to the house and updated our entire system, upgrading our keypad and walking each family member through their own pass code. They made sure we knew how to use their services to the best of our ability. We even got a remote!
There were some break-ins in my area so I got the alarm system from ADT. The rep (who installed the system) disucced my concerns with me and (in addition to their system), he suggested I get a dog.I got a very large and vicious looking german sheppard (who is actually a sweetheart…) and the combination of both the alarm and wolf have given me a sense of safety. It works!

The installation process was also shady. That being said after he scared us about break ins in the area we still wanted protection. Once service began it was great until we had to move and eventually sell our home. It was at this point when I discovered he had committed us to a 3 year contract and signed a document for it–FORGERY! And because he most likely had my wife click a link without being able to read the contract because of the “necessary edits he had to make” we were going to be held to fire for this contract. I told a representative we no longer were going to own the property and to cancel service and to send me a copy of the contract. This is where I saw he signed the contract not me!

I bought $2k+ of equipment after being told that the equipment was transferable to a new residence since I was installing it in a rental residence I did not own. It was explicitly explained that I was renting and would be moving within 3 years and was promised I could take all equipment with me to be installed in another home. When I moved I was informed that the equipment cannot be transferred but that a $500 moving credit is given, however the new home I was moving into had "a better system" and the $500 credit would cover the little bit of equipment I was missing to give me an "even better system" than I had in the previous home. New contract was signed based on this. No new equipment was installed - turns out the only existing equipment was a couple of door sensors and hard wired alarm pads, which were not used. There are no sensors on windows or 3 of the 5 doors. My last home had over ten window sensors and 5 door sensors as well as 2 alarm pads at entry doors. Now I have two doors protected and one alarm pad that can only be used in a room that is not a primary entry point and would require me to run across the house to disarm every time I enter my home. It is a 3 year contract that has to be paid in full so I am now paying for services for 3 years that cannot be used and were sold under completely false pretenses. The company refuses to deliver what was promised and continues to try to get me to buy more equipment to get what i already paid for. What's more is that I had a 3 year contract in the previous home that they reassigned to another 3 year contract after having already fulfilled 2 years of the first contract - this is not what was explained to me, I was told the new contract was for the 1 year difference. I either have to cough up $800+ to cancel the contract or continue to pay for monitoring on equipment not installed.
Monitoring for professionally installed systems tends to be more expensive. The ADT Pulse monitoring service starts at $28.99 per month and requires a three-year contract, but you also have to figure in the cost of things like hardware components, cellular backup, and installation. When we reviewed the Pulse system, our upfront cost was more than $3,000, with a monthly fee of more than $60. Some vendors, such as LifeShield, will let you buy the components outright or pay for them over time. For example, LifeShield's Security Essentials system will cost you $29.99 per month for three years and includes monitoring, but you'll pay a $99 activation fee. Or, you can pay $299.99 upfront for the hardware and still get monitoring but avoid the activation fee.
While my daughter was visiting she took too long to disarm the system one early morning since she was sleeping. The alarm was in the “instant” mode so when I opened the door it went off and I attempted to silence the alarm with my FOB while my daughter put in the code. ADT took approx 10 minutes to call my house! In this time if it were a real emergency me or my daughter could have been robbed or killed if a true intruder was in the house! This is unacceptable!

Do you have an ADT Coupon or ADT Special? How much is ADT anyhow? Are these the questions that are rolling around in your head? Here at California Security Pro, we answer these questions and more every day. This blog post will provide you with answers to our most common questions about ADT pricing, including what kind of special offers we've got ready for you.
“They are always there when you need them which is what I like the most. Highly recommend ADT to all my family and friends. Even when you call with stupid questions they are there for you. The system is that sensitive that it realized something was wrong regarding the heating and a/c and sensed the burnt out panel long before we would have. Thanks.” – David, October 6, 2017, Consumer Affairs
Check to see how long you’re signing the contract for – these tend to be three- or five-year periods. Also take some time to understand whether there are any penalties if you want to leave the contract sooner and if the fees can rise during the contract time frame. Be sure to check what equipment you’re allowed to keep once the contract has expired.

The actual alarm system works well. The alarm is a good volume such that it will wake you up but won’t leave your ears ringing. It is fairly easy to learn how to use and operate. However, if the alarm does go off and is not cancelled, the phone operators that call rarely follow the protocol they are supposed to They are supposed to verify your identity and use a passcode to ensure you are not being held under duress, and this was rarely done. Sometimes there was a very long time gap between the alarm going off and getting a phone call to check on our safety. Overall, the system is great if you are home in the house and want alarms for your own alert, but don’t rely on the phone operators to help in a true emergency.

With six co-located, fully redundant monitoring centers in different regions of the country, the ability to overtake monitoring almost every other security system and with all the industry accolades and accreditations possible, ADT continues to be a great option for many. It’s important to make sure you fully understand the system you are getting and who you are working with. Whether it’s ADT corporate, or Protect Your Home, their largest and most successful and widely recommended authorized dealer, be sure you understand exactly what you are getting, what you will be paying, and what the terms of your agreement mean.

I know that ADT is one of the best companies out there but I swear it has gone to their heads. I had used their service in the late 90's before losing my first home. Years later, I come back to them after being a customer with them for 9 years and they treated me like crap. The man I spoke to on the phone kept cutting me off when I was trying to ask questions, and long story short I over paid for something I didn't even want because the rep failed to listen to me. Could just be a rep issue??

All in all, it's hard to go wrong with the trusted blue and white. Competitors still lack the brand name and good reputation that ADT has built over the past century. Being able to move anywhere in the USA and not pay a cancellation fee is a big plus. Great equipment, and a company that still installs the security system, they are our top recommendation for the average of a homeowner.

ADT has four monitored security packages to choose from: basic, basic wireless, ADT Pulse, and ADT Pulse + Video. Their monthly fees are on the high side, from $36.99 to $58.99. They require a 36-month minimum contract. Additionally, in the event of early contract termination, ADT may ask the client to pay 70% of the monthly charges due for the balance of the first 36-months. They do offer a 6-month money back guarantee and a 90-day limited warranty for their products, but all in all a rather stringent pricing and contract policy.
ADT was Past security brand that we had! We loved it! They provides great service! The sign in the yard let thieves know not to bother us! They were fast and aware of what was happening around our house! We no longer have this because we moved to a little town that does not have a high crime rate! We hardly lock our doors now! ADT was great to have and always made us feel very safe if an emergency happened! I would recommend them to everyone! Thank you!
Hello Kai-We apologize for any issues that you encountered with the ADT authorized dealer. When you installed your services in CO, you would have signed and been provided with a copy of your residential services agreement, that clearly spells out the term of the agreement, 36 months. Should you have any further concerns, please feel free to email ADT at AlwaysThere@adt.com. Thank you. -Gabe
ADT monitoring has yet to let me down even with my little kids around the home. I only got a basic security system so I can't really compare or say it's better than "X" company but definitely works for a mother of 4 who wants some added peace to her life! My husband is gone a lot and he likes being able to check what's going on in and outside of the home thru the Pulse monitoring app. This is how I got him to buy the system for us in the first place ;).
Good insight. A criminal would have to be one very well researched guy to know that tip about ADT cameras. My guess is the burglar would move on to the next home if they saw cameras but still good information to know. You're right, there aren't too many cameras that go hand in hand with a security system yet. Getting Swann or other DVR systems that record 24/7 is a good idea. Also Vivint has good integration with their cameras (probably the best out of all security companies currently).

When your kids grow up, you don’t stop worrying about them – OR your house. With remote access I can check to make sure the doors are locked, and even when she doesn’t pick up the phone, I can check on her, too! Because as any parent knows, your kids are far more valuable than your stuff, and peace of mind is at a premium when you’ve got teenagers!
Belkin was first formed in 1983. Their camera on display is Belkin NetCam HD+. The video resolution and frame goes for 1280 x 720/25fps. Field of views goes up to 95 degrees. Night vision covers up to twenty-six feet with 850nm IR LEDs. Connectivity measures at 802.11b/g/n. The Belkin NetCam HD+ comes with a built-in microphone & speaker. Cloud storage holds up to fourteen days of footage for $9.99 per month. The pros are affordable, easy setup, remotely controls WeMo-compatible home accessories, and night vision. The cons are camera occasionally struggles to stream 720p and WeMo functionality broken out into separate app.
When we purchased ADT Security Company we thought it was kind of expensive, but we were willing to pay the price because when we would drive around in nice neighborhoods we would see their signs in so many peoples yards that we assumed that they must have been a good choice. Boy, were we wrong! We did not have get the service that we expected. Our alarm kept going off at all times of the night and day. Our neighbors started started complaining. The police even came out numerous times, and they started getting frustrated with us. I was even afraid that we might be sued fro disturbing the peace. Then when we would call the company, or they would call us they were many times very rude, or irritated. Needless to say, they weren’t worth the price, so we cancelled their services, and have been shopping around for someone better. Maybe each town’s ADT company is different, but now I warn all my neighbors, and friends to go with someone else!
I have been with ADT since 2004. I work out of town and really like the peace of mind I get with ADT protecting my home. The only call I have had since 2004 was during a storm. It appeared that the storm set off the alarm. My only complaint is the monthly fees. There have been small increases in fees over the years, never more than one dollar. I received a letter that they are increasing the monthly fee by $3.00 next month. Are they upgrading my system? No. Has there been an increase in alarm activity on my system? No. I guess they need the increase to give an executive a pay raise. Well, they have raised their fees out of my house. I am now going to find another security firm that appreciates long term customers. Good bye ADT.
I love all of the features with this new system. It’s great for pet owners. I do have to say that it is a little confusing how the packages are displayed online, versus what you can get from the company on the phone, or in person. I currently have the middle tier, but I’m maxed out on ‘points’ for more equipment. I can apparently buy the hardware at full price and install it for it to work, but I cannot get it for free like the rest of the equipment. This isn’t a huge drawback, since I did get free hardware and install, but it’s not stated clearly online. So far everything has been working great, and I’m excited to not worry about break-ins or fires. Wish the contract was not for 5 years. Seems a little excessive.
At the end of the day, I believe that ADT wants to provide a good product and customer service, however, communication system is disjointed, broken and ineffective. The most disappointing thing is the fact that three different parties in different parts of their organization have gone completely cold in response to my attempts to determine how to fix my problem. I can only assume that they are completely incapable of addressing situations that are outside of the norm, especially when the issue is something that they should have informed me about before the equipment was installed. This is not only a disgrace from a customer service perspective, but completely insulting to a consumer who has a choice when selecting a home security service.
A few minutes into the DIY installation, our tester got stuck getting her control panel up and online — it just wouldn’t connect. A help window popped up with a number to call, and a Frontpoint rep helped her troubleshoot the connection. After about 10 minutes, he could tell there was an issue with the circuit board. Certainly not ideal — but the rep apologized and shipped her replacement control panel overnight.

The rep (who installed the system) disucced my concerns with me and (in addition to their system), he suggested I get a dog.I got a very large and vicious looking german sheppard (who is actually a sweetheart…) and the combination of both the alarm and wolf have given me a sense of safety. I talked with a representative about a home security system. As we talked she asked me questions regarding number of windows/doors etc. She told me we would get window/doors sensors (never actually told me how many my mistake for not asking), also told me it wasn't a problem to include an extra key fob and the really great news was we were going to have all this "free" money to purchase anything else we wanted off the service truck. Salesman and installer arrive and we find out that extra key fob was coming out of our "free" money the representative never ever mentioned this fact.
